Visitation:
Wednesday and an hour prior to the services on Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Biography--

Clarence R. Bohlen, age 83, of Waterloo, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born August 3, 1931 in Dumont, Iowa, the son of August H. and Trena Bengen Bohlen. Clarence was united in marriage with Virginia Marie Henn on June 3, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Clarence worked at the Rath Packing Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He then worked at Homeland Bank in Waterloo for 7 years, retiring in 1994. Clarence was a former member of First Reformed Church in Evansdale and a current member of New Life Fellowship Church in Elk Run Heights. He was actively involved in his church serving as a Deacon, Elder and a Sunday School Teacher.

Clarence loved “going to work”. He enjoyed fishing, camping and loved to play golf. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren and attending their activities, family gatherings, walking and biking.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Waterloo; two sons, Kenneth (Sandy) Bohlen of Scottsdale, AZ and Douglas (Lynn) Bohlen of Waterloo; a daughter, Vicki (Mark) Reed of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one more on the way; and two brothers, William (Darlene) Bohlen of Allison, Iowa, and Herman Bohlen of Cedar Falls.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Harlan, Gordon and August Jr. and three sisters: Loretta Viet, Elsie Werkman and a sister in infancy.
