Services:
Friday, February 20 at Payne Memorial AME Church: 1044 Mobile Street Waterloo, Iowa.

Visitation:
Thursday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel: 3146 Kimball Ave. Waterloo, Iowa.
Also an hour before the service on Friday at the church.

Cemetery:
Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo

Memorials:
Memorials may be directed to the family at 319 Glenwood Street, Waterloo, Iowa 50703 where they will receive friends.

Biography--

Chester Bagsby, Sr., age 93, of Waterloo, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at UnityPoint Health – Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 9, 1921, in Clarksville, Arkansas, the son of John and Lavida White Bagsby. He was united in marriage with Laithier Brown and she preceded him in death on November 15, 1997.

Chester was employed by Rath Packing Co. for 41 years. He was a member of Payne Memorial A.M.E. Church. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Force.

Survivors include a daughter, Janelle Williams of Waterloo; four sons, Chester Bagsby Jr. of Houston, Texas, Jeffrey (Collette) Bagsby, Rayford (Johnnie Mae) Bagsby and Gregory Bagsby, all of Waterloo; his special niece Kaye Bagsby-Person of Tuckerman, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two grandsons; four brothers, John, Ed, Frank and Richard Bagsby and two sisters, Bertie Mae Eason and Imogene York.
