Monday, June 22, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1024 W. 8th St. in Waterloo under the auspices of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Visitation:
Public visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, 3146 Kimball Ave. in Waterloo and an hour prior to the services on Monday at Grace Lutheran Church.

Biography--

Lester C. “Les” Faust, age 79 of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa of natural causes.

He was born February 3, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Harry G. and Dorothea (Poock) Faust. Les graduated from Waterloo East High School with the Class of 1954. He was united in marriage with Lavonne J. Pipho on May 13, 1956 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2003.

Les began his working career at Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in Waterloo and later at Cutler Hardware in the warehouse and delivery departments. Les then worked for John Deere & Co. as an inspector in the Waterloo foundry. Following retirement, Les was a funeral attendant for Parrott and Wood/Chapel of Memories Funeral Home for many years.

Les was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo where he served as a deacon and a member of Church Boards and the School Board.

Survivors include a son, Joseph (Tracy) Faust of Waterloo; three daughters: Christine (Jeff) Wise of San Leandro, CA., Melissa (Raymond) Ornelas of Mission Viejo, CA., and Priscilla (Steve) Mills of Manteca, CA; three grandchildren: April (Mike) Howard of Portola Hills, CA., Kelsey and Karter Faust, of Waterloo; a brother, Robert (Janet) Faust of Waterloo; and two sisters, Shirley (Chuck) Sanders of San Clemente, CA. and Susan (Dale) Thurman of Grundy Center, IA. and many nieces and nephews.

Les was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, a son, Kevin and a brother, Wayne Faust.
