Biography--

Ralph Dunkelberger, 85, of La Porte City, died at Covenant Medical Center, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

Ralph was born on October 22, 1930 in rural La Porte City, son of Alvin and Eva (Mengel) Dunkelberger.

He graduated from La Porte City High School in 1949.

Ralph married Gloria Bagenstos on October 6, 1951 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in La Porte City in their first ever double wedding.

He worked as a farmer most of his life and enjoyed being close to the land.

Ralph was member of St. Paul United Methodist Church as well as the La Porte City USS San Diego American Legion Post 207.

Ralph is survived by his wife; son, Mike (Rory) Dunkelberger of La Porte City; daughter, Penny (Mark) Wilson of La Porte City; five grandchildren: Zach, Brie, David, and Brian Dunkelberger and Mitchell Wilson, all of La Porte City; and one great-granddaughter, Adyn Dunkelberger.

Ralph was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Kenny Dunkelberger; two brothers, Archie and George Dunkelberger; and two sisters, Vera Palmer and Betty Bristow.
