Biography--

Clara Mae Poock, 94, of Waterloo died Monday, November 2, 2015 at her home, of natural causes.

She was born February 14, 1921 in Elgin, Iowa the daughter of Ernest and Martha (Scheel) Pfiester. She married Melvin J. Poock, January 1, 1947, Independence, Iowa, they were later divorced.

She worked as a homemaker, babysitter, and took in ironings.

She is survived by a son, Roger (Becky) Poock of Waterloo; a daughter, Debra (Allen) Anderson of Boulder, CO; six grandchildren, Tammy (Eric Johnson) Poock of Waterloo, Pamela Poock of Chicago, IL, John (Missy) Poock of Waterloo, Scott (Angie) Anderson of Glenwood Springs, CO, Kim (Daniel Verdeja) Anderson of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, William (Jen) Catone of Dubuque; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Bliss of Oelwein, Peggy Clark of Oelwein; a brother, Junior (Dee) Pfiester of Oelwein; a brother in law, Russell Nelson of Waterloo and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pfiester and Pat Pfiester both of Oelwein;

Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frieda Nelson and Gusty Earle; two brothers, Louie and Glen Pfiester and one grandson Donald Nichols.
