Dale James Forsythe
June 11, 1928 - January 20, 2015
Dale J. Forsythe was born June 11, 1928 in Arlington, Iowa: the son of John and Minervia (Cheek) Forsythe. He attended schools in Lamont, Iowa. Dale was united in marriage to Marilyn Dort on January, 14, 1950 in Manchester, Iowa; they just celebrated 65 years of marriage. Dale and Marilyn lived most of their married life in Elk Run Heights. He was employed with Hinson Manufacturing in sheet metal fabrication until his retirement. After retirement, Dale and Marilyn moved to Harper’s Ferry, where he enjoyed fishing. Recently, they moved back to Waterloo and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale.
Dale passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Unity Point Hospital Allen Memorial at the age of 86.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Ruth Bartels; a brother and four sisters.
Dale is survived by his wife Marilyn of Waterloo; a son Jimmy Forsythe of Creighton, Nebraska; a daughter Carol (Randy) Gleason of Warsaw, Missouri; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
