Louise Eunice (Dean) Eastman was born August 22, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Annabelle (Uhlmann) Dean. While attending school at Edison she met Robert Eastman. They met again following his service in the military and the two were married three months later. Their life together was a true love story.

She worked for Rath Packing Office, the Black Hawk County Treasurer’s Office and, finally, at Sac’s on 5th in Waterloo. Louise had a love of nature – particularly animals. She was an accomplished artist who most enjoyed ceramics and porcelains; teaching classes to share her passion with other budding artists.

She and Bob danced throughout their life and took many motorcycle trips with their “gang” of friends. Much of their life focused on Sunday family dinners and holiday meals served on perfectly decorated tables.

Louise passed away at the age of 89 years at Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 of natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Bill Aegerter; a granddaughter, Sherri Dietz; a grandson by marriage, Dave; and her sister, Loretta Converse.

Louise is survived by her husband of 68 years; three daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Dietz of Waterloo, Donna (Bill) Aegerter of West Des Moines, and Linda (Jim) Paine of Clive; five grandchildren, Doug Dietz, Rob Dietz, Angie Sapp, Jeni Goemann and Dan Paine; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Darline Woodall of Cedar Falls.
