Mark Arden Potter was born May 25, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa: the son of Waymond and Bernice (Bagg) Potter. He was raised in Waterloo and attended Waterloo Parochial Schools, East High School and the University of Northern Iowa.

Mark was united in marriage to Jennifer Reef on September 10, 1998 in Kennebunkport, Maine. They lived in New York City until moving back to Waterloo. He was an accomplished Pantomime and dancer. Mark worked at Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits at Crossroads in Waterloo.

Mark passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 61.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Courtney Potter and a sister Penne Kirby.

Mark is survived by his wife Jennifer Reef of Waterloo; two brothers, Ronald (Mary) Potter and Michael (Connie) Potter both of Waterloo and three sisters: Charlene Price of Cedar Falls, Marlene (John) Payne of Castleberry, Alabama and Sharon Hinde of Independence. Mark will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
