Gladys A. Sims (1928-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Gladys A. Sims, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born August 27, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of Herman and Amanda (Beckel) Matthias. She married Dallas E. Sims on October 12, 1947, in Nashua, Iowa. He died April 25, 1999.

She was a farm wife and homemaker throughout her adult life.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (John) Hildebrand of Janesville and Jean (Phil) Christensen of O’Fallon, IL; a son, Richard E. Sims of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Betty) Matthias of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by a son, David; and many brother and sisters.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Living Water First Church of the Nazarene with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
