Obituary for Stuart Neil Stilling 1953-2015

CEDAR FALLS- Stuart N. Stilling, 61, of Reno, Nevada, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, from ALS.

He was born May 29, 1953 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, son of Ernest and Ann (Meronek) Stilling. He married Janell Rosenberg of Cedar Falls, on July 1, 1996 in Las Vegas.

He earned his BA from UC Fullerton, MA, in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University, and was currently working toward completion of his doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He was a professor of psychology at the University of Phoenix, retiring in 2014.

He is survived by his wife, of Reno; two step-sons, Aaron and Samuel (Leah) Masden of Las Vegas; a step grandson, Desmond Masden; and two sisters-in-law, Teresa and Rose Stilling of Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.

Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. There will be no visitation. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the ALS Association for research.
