David J. Junkins (1938-2015)

CEDAR FALLS- David J. Junkins, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

He was born April 29, 1938 in Waterloo, son of Maurice and Gladys (McCann) Junkins. He married Deanna Myszka on June 25, 1957 in Cedar Falls.

He served in the US Navy and was Maintenance Supervisor with John Deere Tractor Works, retiring in 1990. In retirement, he managed Precision Services for Magee Construction.

Survived by: his wife, Deanna of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Debra (Scott) Jordan of Buena Vista, Colorado, and Cindy (Tom) Cagley of Cedar Falls; a son, Jeff (Mike Dillon) Junkins of Golden Valley, Minnesota, five grandchildren: David, Joshua, and Danny Hansen, Travis Cagley and Candice Verbeck; thirteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Jennifer) Junkins of Toronto, Iowa, and Bob Junkins of Waterloo.

Memorial Services: Monday at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church with inurnment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service.
