Marie Hambly Clark (1920-2015)

CEDAR FALLS- Marie Hambly Clark, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born July 1, 1920, in Nevada, Iowa, daughter of Lester W. “Bill” and Lila (Deal) Hambly. She married Donald S. Clark on May 11, 1946 in Nashua; he died January 14, 1989.

She was employed at Chamberlain Manufacturing, Bickley’s Maternity Hospital, John Deere, JC Penney, Black’s Department Store, and Tavern on the Green.

She is survived by a son, Dennis (Mary Eldridge) Clark of Waterloo; two daughters, Niceta Sproul of Cedar Falls, and Marcene Clark (Edward) Horvat of Hopwood, PA; four grandchildren: Angie (Brian) Carmichael, Stephanie and Heather Freeland, and Micah Horvat; five great-grandchildren: Kayla Wayne, Brandon and Mazie Gilfillian, Hunter and Brice Carmichael; and two great-great grandchildren, Karder and Tate Wayne; and a brother, Milton Hambly of La Porte City.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester W. Hambly II and Lloyd Hambly; and sisters, Hazel Regan and Helen Seavey; and a great grandson, Cody Kruse.

Celebration of Life will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at Richardson Funeral Service, where there will be a 5 p.m. Eulogy. Private inurnment in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing, Iowa. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice for Music Therapy.
