Joann D. Pederson (1930-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Joann D. Pederson, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born November 4, 1930 in Emmetsburg, IA,daughter of Alvin and Teresa (Ferguson) Thake. She married Marvin O. Pederson on February 17, 1951 in Windom, Minnesota.

She was employed at Farmers Co-op, U.S. Postal Service, Branco, Janes Flowers and Gifts, St. John Lutheran Church, Singer Sewing Machine Center, and American Central Airlines.

She is survived by: her husband, Marvin; three daughters, Susan (Jack) Mitchell of Cedar Falls, Julie (Kevin) King of Janesville, and Kathy (Don) Becker of Wayzata, MN; three sons, Steven (Terry) of Villa Park, IL, Dave (Jane) of St. Charles, IL, and Eric of Liberty, MO; eleven grandchildren, Andy (Jessi) Pederson, Katie (Carl) Lehenbauer, Anne (Drew) Pipkorn, Amber Quigg, Aaron (Rachel) Pederson, Ryan (Alisha) Pederson, Lindsey Pederson, Jennifer Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Natalie (Trevor) Dettmann, and Dana (Dee) Becker; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a brother, John (Becky) Thake of Montrose, CO.

Preceded in death by: brothers, Jerry and Jim Thake and grandson, Timothy

Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service and also one hour prior to the services at the church.
