Joe D. Ridder (1942-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Joe D. Ridder, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born April 16, 1942 in Parkersburg, son of Joseph and Bertha (Hundley) Ridder. He married Etta Scott on September 12, 1964 in Minnesota and they later divorced. He then married Delores Schmidt and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2012.

Mr. Ridder worked as a welder in the metro area.

He is survived by two sons, Tom (Lisa) and Jeff (Jackie) Ridder, both of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and three sisters, Dorothy Holcomb of Ackley, Joann (Mike) Lashbrook of Wellsburg, and Lisa Stubbe of Iowa Falls.

He was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.

Services will be on Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hudson. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 2704 Kennedy Ave, Cedar Falls.
