Miriam Louise Jensen Lentzkow (1930-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Miriam L. Lentzkow, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, July 31, 2015, at her home.

She was born December 12, 1930, in Nevada, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin Alfred and Hallie Malinda (Farren) Jensen. She married Lowell John Lentzkow on May 6, 1951 in Waterloo.

She graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1949 and was employed as a receptionist with Dr. Hedican, worked in the office at Younkers, and retired as a service representative for Northwestern Bell. She was a member of St. Timothys United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Lowell of Cedar Falls; two sons, Craig (Laura) of Yorkville, IL, and Gary of Alpharetta, GA; a daughter, Melinda “Mindy” (Bruce) Josephs of Elmhurst, IL; six grandchildren: Alison (Brian) Parker, Erik and Katie Lentzkow, Brian (Kristen) Josephs, Matt and Jenna Josephs; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Ben Parker; and two brothers, Carroll (Joyce) Jensen of Waterloo and Kenneth (Darlene) Jensen of Santee, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Jensen and Hallie Jensen Sherrill.

Services: Wednesday at St. Timothys United Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Miriam was an avid hobbyist, specializing in quilting, ceramics and her real passion of making, buying and collecting dolls.
