Obituary for Charles "Tom" Brooks

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Charles “Tom” Brooks, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born February 26, 1941 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Louis and Mary Jane (Taeger) Brooks. He married Linda Harken on June 26, 1965 in Burlington, Iowa.

He graduated from Burlington High School and received his B.A. and M.A. at the University of Northern Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force and taught science for many years at Peet Junior High School, retiring in 1997.

Survived by: his wife; two brothers, Dan (Jeri Von Holten) of Peru, IL, and John (Ann) of Green Valley, AZ; sister-in-law, Lynne Brooks of West Melbourne, FL; Danish daughter, Hanne Rosendal and her daughters; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; stepmother, Meta Jane Brooks; and brother, Michael.

There will be no services at this time.
