Pearly T. Mann, 91 of Waterloo, died Tuesday, November 18 at her home.

She was born November 7, 1923 in Tarboro, N.C. daughter of J. Walker and Nona Howcutt. She married Albert L. Mann in October of 1950 in Orange, N.J. He died October 23, 2003.

Pearly graduated from Westside High School in New Jersey and then from University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. She was employed at Bendix Corp. in New Jersey as a factor worker before moving to Waterloo in 1976. She then worked as a nurse at Schoitz Memorial Hospital and Chamberlain’s Manufacturing in Waterloo.

Survivors include a son, Joseph (Noriko) Mann of Schenectady, N.Y.; a daughter, Pamela Mann of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren a nephew, Douglas Smalls of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Thelease Mann of Mass.

Preceded in death by a son, Marvin L. “Buttons” Mann; a brother and five sisters.

Services will be Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4:00 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church on Monday.
