Lori Jean Schmitt, 49, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at NorthCrest Specialty Care.

She was born December 31, 1964, in Oelwein, daughter of Dennis “Denny” Moore and Elanor “Ellie” Gosse. She married Paul Anthony Schmitt on Sept. 21, 1985 in Oelwein. He died October 15, 2013.

Lori graduated from Oelwein High School and went on to work in banking and insurance.

She is survived by her son, Cory (Stefanie Newhouse) Schmitt of Platteville, Wisc.; her daughter, Megan (Kevin) Kaiser of Waterloo; her mother; a brother, Randy (Julie) Moore of Westgate, Iowa; two sisters, Teri (Tim) Burkey of Westgate, Iowa, Cheryl Moore of Oelwein.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; and a brother-in-law, Robert “Robbie” Casey.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 18 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fairbank. Public visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
