Wilma Rainey

November 4, 1915 - December 7, 2014

Wilma A. Rainey, 99, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, December 7, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born November 4, 1915, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Roscoe and Josephine Divis Boyer. She married Edward Rainey on June 18, 1950 in Marshalltown. He died in 1982.

Wilma graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1934. She was employed with the Waterloo Savings Bank for 30 years until her retirement.

Survivors include a sister, Shirley Tarrence of Cedar Falls; a nephew, Scot Tarrence; three nieces, Cathy Wershay, Lisa (Jim) Wachendorf and Debbie Bachman; a nephew-in-law, Les Weber; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Boyer and Edward Boyer; a sister, Jeanette Hynek; a niece, Marilyn Weber; and a nephew, Ross Boyer.

Services will be on Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown. Public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

Wilma was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Allen Auxiliary and the Rocker club.
