Arlene Frances Sturch, 79, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 20, at Unity Point Health Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, Iowa.
She was born October 19, 1935, in Mitchell, South Dakota, the daughter of Lemual and Mary W. Able Forbes. She married Richard H. Sturch August 19, 1961 in Waterloo. He died September 4, 1999.
Arlene graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1954. She was employed with Powers Manufacturing as a seamstress and then with Waterloo Industries for 30 years as a press operator.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Ruth Lohman) Sturch of Raymond; a daughter, Andrea (Russ) Foote of Sedalia, Mo.; a step-son, Robert (Sandie) Sturch of Harper’s Ferry; a step-daughter, Kim Sturch-Thomas of Washington; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Teresa) Foote, Ross (Monica) Foote, Alex (Amanda) Foote, Addisson (Catherine Tally) Foote, Brandon Sturch, Austin Sturch, Hunter Sturch and Payton Sturch; three great-grandchildren, Lukas, Liam and Quinn; a brother, John (Shirley) Forbes of Harper’s Ferry and a sister-in-law, Donna Forbes of Evansdale.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Pyrle and David Forbes.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with inurnment in Oakland Cemetery, Janesville.
Public visitation will be an hour prior to services on Friday.
Arlene was an organ donor. She enjoyed sewing, her lady friends from Waterloo Industries Press Dept. Birthday Club, humming birds and her grandchildren.
