February 9, 1955 - January 19, 2015

Gary Dean Snider, 59, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, January 19, at the VA Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born February 9, 1955, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Garth and Emily Norgaard Snider. He married Patti Snider on June 12, 2014 in Georgia.

Gary served in the United States Army and attended the University of Northern Iowa. He spent his life as a substitute teacher for the Waterloo Community Schools which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also was employed with Mama Nick's in Waterloo.

Survivors include: his wife, Patty of Waterloo; two sons, Grant Snider and Jordan Snider both of Waterloo; two brothers, Richard Snider of Evansdale and Steven Snider of Waterloo; two sisters, Sheery (Larry) Brunscheon of Alleman and Joyce Carter of Rochester, Minn; a sister-in-law, Judy Snider of Waterloo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Joe Snider; a nephew, Andy Snider; a great-nephew, Blake Snider; a brother-in-law, Lauren Carter and a sister-in-law, Cathy Snider.

Memorial Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 23, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31. Public visitation one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
