Biography--

Shane Arthur Schwickerath, 44, died at home, on February 25, 2015.

He was born January 23, 1971, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Eugene and Sandee Peterson Schwickerath. He married Michelle Henry in September of 1992 and they later divorced. He married Laura Glenn in November 2003 and they later divorced.

Shane graduated from Waterloo West High School early to join the Army and later shot on the Army Marksmanship Unit concurrently with the Olympic Skeet Shooting Team. He was a Shooting Instructor during the Gulf War. He then was employed at John Deere Tractor Mfg. Co. in the heat treat dept. for almost thirteen years.

He is survived by his son, Lane of Cedar Falls; his parents, Eugene and Sandee Schwickerath of Cedar Falls; a brother, Ronan (Lisa) Schwickerath of Cedar Falls; three nephews; Micah and Manning Schwickerath of Cedar Falls, Terris Schmitz (Jodi) of Spring Valley, Minn.; two great-aunts, Elizabeth (DeWayne) Kruger of Waterloo and Gertrude Jacobson of Ark.; three aunts, Georgia (Michael) Bashta of Evansdale, Sheila (Gary) Booth of Marcus, Marcia (Betty) Peterson of LeClaire; two uncles, Aaron (Rose) Peterson of Sioux City and Pete Peterson of Amana.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Fran Schwickerath; maternal grandparents, Maurice and Shirley Peterson.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour preceding services on Wednesday. Full military rites by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Inurnment at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a scholarship fund for Lane’s college education.

Wednesday March 4, 2015, 02:00 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St.
