John Louis Grabow

April 6, 1927 - February 22, 2015

John Louis Grabow, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, February 22, at home.

He was born April 6, 1927, in Dubuque, the son of Louis and Alice Heuser Grabow. He was employed as an accountant for Super Welding Supply for 18 years, retiring in 1992. John was the past President of Institution of Management Accountants, where he was honored for more than 40 years of perfect attendance by the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Chapter, he was on the Board of Directors of Visiting Nurses, the treasurer of the St. Mary’s Alumni Association, and a longtime usher at St. Edward Catholic Church.

Survivors include a brother, James (Constance) Grabow of Appleton, Wisconsin; three nephews, Peter (Amy) Grabow of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Paul Grabow of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Andrew (Beverly) Grabow of Appleton, Wisconsin; a niece Victoria Grabow of Appleton, Wisconsin.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Donald Grabow.

Services: Thursday, February 26, at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a Rosary. Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church.
