Mary Katheleen “Kathy” Gardner, 65, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Sunday, March 22, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born November 20, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Roger and Beverly Miller Gardner. She married Terry Patten in Galena, Illinois, and they later divorced.

Mary was most recently employed as a cook at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo.

Survivors include: three daughters, Terri (Bob) Westerman of Cedar Falls, Cindy (Troy Hoffman) Patten of Elk Run Heights, and Malissa (Toby) Orcutt of Independence; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Michael (Tracy Rank) Gardner of Missouri, and Mark Gardner of Waterloo; a sister, Margaret (Rick Sampson) Willard of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by: her parents and two brothers in infancy.

Public visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday, March 27, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where there will be a rosary starting at 10 a.m. Family Directed Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.
