Biography--

Stewart C. Davis, 78, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 22 at Unity Point Allen Hospital.

He was born January 28, 1937 in Denver, Colo. son of William C. and Arminda B. Creighton Davis. He married Audrey MacPherson August 1, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
Stewart was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and served honorably in the United States Navy as Hospital Corpsman for the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959.

Stewart was employed with John Deere, as a computer projects supervisor, for 39 years, retiring in July, 1998.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Greg (Debra) Davis of Johnston and John Davis of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Laurie (John) Fletcher of Encinitas, Calif. and Alice (Jeff) Englin of Hayward, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Brian Davis, Jacob and Lucas Davis; Connor and Natalie Fletcher and Anna and Joshua Englin and a brother, William C. (Bonnie) Davis, Jr. of Belle Plaine, a niece, Brooke Davis of Waterloo, and two nephews, Benjamin (Heather) Davis of Bell Plaine, and Joseph (Rochelle) Davis of Huntsville, Alabama.

Preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with inurnment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31. Public visitation will be an hour before services Wednesday.

Stewart was a devoted Grandfather, Father and Husband. He was a dedicated volunteer of local youth hockey and co-founder in the development of the Iowa High School Hockey League. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
