Biography--

Charles F. Wandro, 79, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, April 2, at Unity Point Allen Hospital.

He was born August 8, 1935 in Cresco, son of Emil and Clara Schoeberl Wandro.

He married Darlene Baldwin April 7, 1967 in Cedar Falls.

He was employed at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Charles was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gene (Julie Connell Guse) Wandro of Mankato, Minn. and Jim (Kim) Weigel of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patti Parmenter of Des Moines; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 10 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with inurnment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Hagarty–Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 pm rosary and a 7 pm vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Charles was an usher at Queen of Peace Catholic Church for many years. He was involved with bowling leagues at Maple Lanes, Cadillac Lanes and Electric Park Lanes, serving as a league secretary.
