Janette Marie Schaefer

Janette Marie Schaefer, 89, of Dubuque, formerly of Washburn, died Monday, July 6, at Luther Manor Nursing Home, Dubuque.
She was born September 14, 1925, in Washburn the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Hemmer Schaefer. She was employed at the Waterloo Bottling Plant and was the family caregiver. She also was employed as a bartender at Schaefer’s Tap in Washburn.
Survivors include: three sisters, Charlene Youngblut and Rosie Youngblut both of Jesup, Lavonne (Wayne) Weber of Washburn; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by: three brothers, Henry (Mildred) Schaefer, Roger (Doris) Schaefer, and Franklin “Pete” (Shirley) Schaefer; two sisters, Mildred (Gerald) O’Connor and Donalene (Bill) Butler; two –brothers- in-law, Gerald Youngblut and Richard Youngblut; and her lifetime companion, Bernard “B.P.” Breitbach.
Services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 P.M. rosary and 6 P.M. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo.
