Dennis “Denny” Boxwell, 72 of Evansdale, Iowa, died Saturday, October 3, at his home.
He was born September 1, 1943 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Doyle and Dorothy James Boxwell. He married Carolyn Azbill in January, 1962 in Waterloo. She died August 27, 2005. He married Karen Brooks Trentz on April 15, 2006 in Evansdale.
Denny received his G.E.D and attended Hawkeye Community College. He was employed at John Deere for 29 years as an inspector and a machinist.
Survived by: his wife; two sons, Michael (Stephanie) of Austin, Texas and Ronald of Waterloo; two daughters, Brenda (Rick) Rundel of Traer and Tami (Tom) Cooper of Evansdale; two step-sons, Jon (Jodi) Trentz of Dunkerton and Brett (Lisa) Payne of Waterloo; a step-daughter, Lisa (Tony) Kerr of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald, of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife; and a brother, Ronald.
Denny enjoyed keeping active with bowling, trapshooting, fishing, motorcycling, camping and playing pool, basically anything ending with and “ing”. He enjoyed watching sports and feeding his birds and squirrels. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday and again for one hour before services.
