Biography--

Isla E. Herdahl, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo died at Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls, on Sunday January 18, 2015.

She was born on November 17, 1920 in Dallas, Wisconsin, daughter of William G. and Emma A. (Schultz) Scheel.

She graduated from Boyceville High School, Wisconsin in 1938. Isla married Erwin L. Herdahl on October 25, 1941. He died on February 22, 2008.

In 1955, she and her husband opened Electronics Associates. In 1965, they opened, owned, and operated Team Electronics, a retail electronics business, until 1981.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, where she was president of the Women of the Church, member of Ruth Circle, taught Sunday School, and quilted.

She was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. Together with her husband, she was the recipient of the 1997 Cedar Valley Mayor Award for their work with Habitat for Humanity. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her son William (Valerie) Herdahl of Cedar Falls, son Richard (Karen) Herdahl of Littleton, Colorado, daughter Cheryl (James) Anderson of Waterloo, six grandchildren: Stephanie Herdahl, Jennifer Nelson, Bruce Anderson, Brian Anderson, Terrence Herdahl, and Tawnie Lavallee, 10 great-grandchildren: Franceska Gilsdorf, Janel Nelson, Logan Nelson, Trevor Nelson, Andrew Anderson, Alexis Lavallee, Hunter Lavallee, Talen Lavallee, Deidre Herdahl, and DeMarieo Mohorne, brother-in-law Eldon Lawrence of New Richmond, Wisconsin, sister-in-law Mildred Scheel of Cedar Rapids, and sister-in-law Deloris Scheel of Barron, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Lanita Borgen and Marlis Lawrence and brothers Cyril Scheel and Oren Scheel.
