Biography--

Fred B. Miehe, 87, died peacefully Monday, January 19, 2015 at Windsor Nursing and Rehab in Cedar Falls.

He was born December 27, 1927 in Waterloo, to Herbert Robert and Luella Burk Miehe. Fred graduated from Waterloo East High School in December 1945. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1949.

He served in the US Army at the conclusion of World War II.

In December of 1949, he married Anne Selden, they later divorced. Fred then married Doris Rosauer in August 1970, she died July 22, 2012. Fred worked for Hinson Manufacturing for over 30 years. After he retired, Fred went to work for Freddie at Garris Miehe Realtors.

He was involved with several organizations including a 50 year member of the BPO Elks #290, the Waterloo Amvets Post 19, Becker Chapman American Legion Post 138 and the Waterloo Masonic Lodge. Fred was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie (John) Lepley of Des Moines; a son, Fred B. (Kathryn) Miehe Jr. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Molly (Mike) Enright of Elm Grove Village, WI.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Sarah (Jeremy) Lepley Rehwald, Laura Lepley Robinson, John J. “Jake” Lepley, Samuel Burk Lepley, Mindy (Ricky) Miehe Galloway, Matthew R. (Amy) Miehe, Michael Enright Jr. and eight great-grandchildren: Easton Rehwald, Joshua Rehwald, William Rehwald, Aiden Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Ellie Marie Miehe, Macy Anne Miehe and Reese James Galloway

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Herbert R. Miehe Jr. and daughter Sarah Lynn Miehe
