Biography--

LuVerne Miller, 91, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Mercy Medical Center—North Iowa in Mason City on Thursday, August 13, 2015.

Fred LuVerne Miller was born July 26, 1924, in Franklin County, Iowa, son of Harm and Gertrude Lursen Miller. He grew up on his parents’ farm near Dumont.

LuVerne married Helen Watters Davisson November 11, 1961, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They met while dancing at the Electric Park Ballroom and continued to dance there during their married life.

LuVerne worked as a farm machinery mechanic for 37 years retiring in 1987 from Waterloo Implement. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling with Helen to Florida in the winter, and his family.

He is survived by his wife; son Larry (Catherine) Davisson of Palo, Iowa; daughter Nancy Crowe of Rockford, Iowa; five grandchildren: Lori (fiancé Sean Barkley) Boxwell of Clarence, Iowa, Ryan (Melissa) Davisson of North Liberty, Iowa, Kimberly (Jeff) Haley of Eldora, Iowa, Kevin (Hope) Crowe of Osage, Iowa, and Keith Crowe of Rockford; eleven great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; brother Marvin (Sharon) Miller of Algona, Iowa; and brother Roland Miller of Waterloo.

LuVerne is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lenora Kurtz, and son-in-law David Crowe.
