WATERLOO -- Robert L. “Bob” Lantz, 65, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1949, in Eau Claire, Wis., son of Darvid and Ramona Montes de Oca Lantz. He married Jeanne S. Vaughan on Sept. 3, 1976, in Waterloo.

Bob graduated from Columbus High School in 1967 and attended Hawkeye Community College. He worked as an optician for Soderberg Optical, Waterloo, for 27 years. He later worked for TRX Inc., Oelwein. He served on the Evansdale City Council for four years; was a member of the Evansdale Planning and Zoning Commission; served on the Cable Television Commission; worked with Quality Care Advocates from 2000-2004; and was a member of the Black Hawk County Republicans.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Angela Staley of Waterloo and Jami (Roldan) Yazzie of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Christian and Kelsie Staley and Lillyanna Yazzie.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Pirtleville, Ariz. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with a 7 p.m. rosary.
