EVANSDALE - Raymond E. “Ray” Miller, 81, of Evansdale, died at home Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, from leukemia.

He was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Strawberry Point, son of Louie and Flora Williams Miller. He married Bonnie Penny in Elgin in 1953, and they later divorced. He then married Linda Praska in Galena, Ill., on Nov. 9, 1972.

Ray was employed by Samson Supply and Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1984. He also did many other odd jobs.

Survived by his wife; seven sons, Dean, Mark (DeAnn) and Gary, all of Waterloo, Danny of Des Moines, Mike (Sharron) and Ernie, both of California, and Jody (Rebecca) of Evans, Colo.; two daughters, Betty Praska of Dubuque and Brenda Miller of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wilbur of Dubuque, and his twin, Robert “Bob” (Janice) of Earlville.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herbert; and two sisters, Melba Hester, and Dora Miller in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, where visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ray enjoyed playing pool and cards.
