Leo Anton Messier – March 30, 1893 – October 4, 1944

LEO ANTON MESSIER

Leo Anton Messier, 51, of 1233 Logan Avenue, died of pneumonia and complications at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 30, 1893, in Cedar Falls, the son of Timothy A. and Nan Grady Messier. He married Lucille Knouff on October 8, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They made their home in Muscatine, Iowa, until 1939, when they moved to Waterloo.

He was employed by the William Galloway & Sons Co. and was a member of First Presbyterian Church here.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Edward J., Bellflower, California, and Irwin G., Hastings Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Rollin Randall, Oelwein, Iowa, and Mrs. Glenn T. Leland, route 2, Waterloo; seven nephews and nieces.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the O’Keefe & Towne Funeral Home by Rev. H. E. Dierenfield, pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial park Cemetery.
