HUDSON - Dennis Brian Roberts, 59, of Hudson, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from glioblastoma multiforme cancer.

He was born Aug. 27, 1955, in Waterloo, son of William “Bill” and Eunice Barnhart Roberts. He married Diane Young on July 18, 1981, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo.

A 1973 graduate of Central High School, Waterloo, Dennis worked at various sites for John Deere, retiring from the Tractor Works in 2011 after 34 years.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Dixie of New York City; his mother of La Porte City; three sisters, Sue Roberts of Washburn, Cheryl (Don Schmidt) Baldwin of Eudora, Kan., and Marijo (Steve) Raecker of Waterloo; a brother, Doug of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Malinda (Daryl) Foelske of Littleton, Colo.; and a brother-in-law, David Young (Mariann) of Ackley.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hudson United Methodist Church. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Dennis was beloved by family, co-workers and friends, amongst whom he never forgot a single name. He loved riding his bicycle, completing six RAGBRAI rides. He lived for taking long motorcycle rides, a delicious plate of lasagna, coffee, talking tractors, road trips with his wife, and long walks with his loyal pup, Curley Joe.
