WATERLOO - Kenneth Butcher, 90, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services of Waterloo of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Carroll, son of William Bryan Jennings and Josephine Katherine Ambs Butcher. He married Dorothy Marie Nichols in January 1947. She preceded him in death.

Kenneth attended East High School, then served in the U.S. Army and was on Omaha Beach three days following the invasion. He worked for, then bought, a billiard parlor. Kenneth also worked for Titus Manufacturing and the State Liquor Store.

Survived by two daughters, Patricia Dufel of Mission, Texas, and Sandra (Richard) Weber of Reinbeck; a son-in-law, Harry Eggers of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Bryan (Ilene Mae) Butcher of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Josephine Hooper; a daughter, Nora Jane Eggers; and a grandson, Richard Brian Weber.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Parkersburg United Methodist Church, with private burial at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth was a member of the Elks Club and, following retirement, worked in billiard repairs and sales. He excelled at billiards.
