WATERLOO - Ruth Jane Flege Kinney, 104, of Moline, Ill., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

She was born Feb. 11, 1910, in Waverly, daughter of William W. and Clara Fettkether Meyers. She married Eugene C. Flege on Sept. 11, 1939; he died Aug. 23, 1966. She married Charles F. Kinney Sr. on Feb. 11, 1971; he died in 1994.

Ruth worked from 1942 until 1973 in Waterloo at Iowa Transmission, Black's, and Bride and Beautiful. She was a member Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1951 and was the Iowa state president of Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1975-1976. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion, Ill.

Survived by a daughter, Kathy Jo (Larry) Volbruck of Orion; a granddaughter, Kathy (Matt) Watters; five stepgrandchildren, Charla Kinney, Robert (Sherry) Kinney, Sue (Lou) Ball, Ray Kinney and Julie (Larry) Girsch; two great-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Paul A. Meyers; and a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Charles Jr. and Elizabeth Kinney.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterloo, or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion.
