CEDAR FALLS - Dale D. Halupnik, 80, of Cedar Falls, died at home Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.

He was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Traer, son of George R. and Luella E. Hulme Halupnik. He married Martha M. "Marty" Parrish on June 8, 1957, in Ames.

Dale graduated from Traer High School in 1952 and received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Doerfer Engineering as a controller for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was active in his church and Y’s Men, serving as president and regional director.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Vicky (Steve) Clinkscales of Urbandale, Sherry (Doug) Grunder of Mount Vernon and Penny (Richard) Sitz of Woodbury, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Michael, Peter and Sara Clinkscales, Megan (Mike) Traxel, Melissa and Amanda Grunder and Hayley, Courtney and Peyton Sitz ; a great-grandchild, Lily Traxel; and a sister, Arlene Fleming of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Clinkscales.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls, with burial prior to services in Buckingham Cemetery, Traer. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Western Home Foundation.
