WATERLOO - William J. Reuter Jr., 72, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, following a short illness.

He was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Black Hawk County near Raymond, son of William J. and Barbara Frances Pint Reuter Sr. On Jan. 16, 1954, he married Darlene J. Bawek at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale.

Mr. Reuter attended Black Hawk County schools and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Rath Packing Co. for 27 years and then was a rural route carrier for the Waterloo Courier for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sherry (Patrick) Kinsel of Waterloo and Vickie (Michael) Raney of Elk Run Heights; five sons, Craig and Kevin, both of Waterloo, David (Melissa) of Martinez, Ga., Dean (Anita) of North Augusta, S.C., and Doug (Elizabeth) of Hudson; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Lloyd Reuter of Gilbertville; and three sisters, Marie (Delbert) Wilson of Rowley, Alma Bawek of Delaware and Marcella Murphy of Clever, Mo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Bernard; and two sisters, Viola Reuter and an infant.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial in St. Josephs Cemetery, Raymond. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 3:30 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also will be an hour before services Thursday at the church.
