Charles E. McCready, 78, of St. Paul, Minn., passed away suddenly of a heart attack at 4 p.m. Monday at Big Fork, Minn. He formerly was of Waterloo, moving to St. Paul three years ago.

He was born at Mt. Morris Ill. Oct. 12, 1876, the son of William E. and Sarah Nye McCready. He married Hazel Bowman at Charleston, Ill. Oct 20, 1907. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Paul.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Miss Dolores McCready, of St. Paul, Mrs. Nellie Gersema, of 322 W. 14th St., Cedar Falls, Mrs. Verda Mae Zajacka, of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Phyllis DeVore, of Des Moines; three sons, Forrest of Dubuque, Eddy, of Hopkins, Minn., Charles B., of 325 Courtland St., and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son who died in infancy and two brothers.

St. Johns parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Hurley-Oppold FUneral Home. Requiem mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. John's. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body will arrive here late Wednesday. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
