WATERLOO - John L. "Johnny" Lyons Sr., 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 28, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Waterloo, son of John and Bertha Clendenan Lyons. He married Darlene Holman in 1953 in Waterloo, and they later divorced. He later married Vicki Sherwood.

Mr. Lyons was a foreman for Fuller Roofing Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1993.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie (Wayne) Shepard of Grundy Center and Tracy (Eric) Laws of Waterloo; five sons, John (Karen) Lyons of Waverly, Frank (Pat) Lyons of Cedar Falls, Tim (Diane) Lyons of Federal Way, Wash., and Tony Lyons and Tom (Elise) Sherwood, both of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Clarence.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
