Michael C. (Mike) Frehse, 82, of 2708 Crestline Avenue, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born on September 2, 1922 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Fred and Paulyne (Feddersen) Frehse. Michael graduated from West High School in 1941. He received his BA Degree from UNI and his Masters Degree from the University of Arizona at Tucson. He served in the United States Army during WW II.

Michael married Mary Korb on August 14, 1954 at the United Church in Fort Frances, Ontario. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past August. He and Mary enjoyed spending time each year at their cabin in Canada. Michael worked for four years at a paper mill in International Falls, Minnesota and in Evanston, Wyoming for four years teaching. He worked for 20 years in the Waterloo Public Schools at West Junior High School, where he taught Social Studies and coached until his retirement in 1981.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mary; and two daughters, Debbie Frehse of Waterloo, and Nancy Frehse of Waterloo.
