CEDAR FALLS - Gretchen S. Phippen, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 1, 1948, in Dubuque, daughter of Robert W. and Neoma Kueck Petersen. She married Roger D. Phippen on Oct. 7, 1972, in Cedar Falls; he died Nov. 20, 2013.

Gretchen graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1967 and was employed with Goodwill Industries.

Survived by her mother of Cedar Falls; two brothers, Wayne (Linda) Petersen of Iowa City and Clark Petersen of Minneapolis; a sister, Marsha (Mark) Newton of Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father; and Clark's partner, David Reuben Tesch.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel (Cedar Falls Lutheran Home), preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society or Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel Fund.
