Elsie V. Miller died Friday April 23, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein Ia. of natural causes.

She was was born June 24, 1924 in Waterloo the daughter of Ross and Anna (Carpenter) Habenicht. She married Melvin Miller in 1947 in Dubuque Ia. He preceeded her in death in 2003.

Elsie worked for John Deere, then many years at Rath Packing until it closed in 1984. Elsie and her husband also farmed north of Fairbank. She passionately loved her children and her grandchildren along with her many animals, especially her dog Blackie.

Survived by 1 son Michael Miller of Fairbank, 3 daughters, Marlene (John) Higgins of Waterloo, Patricia Clement of Charles City and Susan Miller of Fairbank, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and 1 brother Cecil Habenicht of Dike.

Preceeded in death by Her parents, her husband, 2 sons, Gary Jones and Tim Miller, a grandson Edward Schares, 1 brother Vernon and 2 sisters, Seva and Genevieve.

Visitation: Sunday, April 25 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 4 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service.

Services: Monday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. Immaculate Conception Church in Fairbank with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
