Ione A. Shelton, 86, of Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of 2724 Bicentennial Dr., Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 3, 2005.

Ione was born January 12, 1919 in Haverhill, MA to Peter and Angelina Ferona Spero. She married Harold E. Shelton on January 22, 1950 in Rockton, IL. He passed away March 22, 1990. She was a homemaker the majority of her life.

Ione is survived by her son Ron (Jean) Shelton of Waterloo, daughter Sandy (Jeff) Bergmeier Rekers of Winthrop, and daughter Paula (Rick) Menzel of Palmyra, MO. She has three grandchildren: Chad (Nikki) Bergmeier, Chaun Bergmeier and fiancé Becky Ostercamp, and Angelina Menzel. Two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Alexis Bergmeier, and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law Ken Bergmeier, sisters Rita Hayes, Flo Marky, Kate DiSalvotore, Dorothy Feron, Corrine O’Neil, Rose Terrazzano, and Helen Estill. Brothers: Salvotore Ferona, Anthony S. Ferona, Joseph Ferona, and Arthur Ferona.
