Glenn E. Eickelberg, 96, of Waterloo, died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at his home of natural causes.

He was born November 5, 1907 in Waterloo, IA, the son of William and Lillian (Dilger) Eickelberg.

Glenn graduated from East High School in 1927. He married Madge C. Williamson on February 1, 1934 in Manchester, IA. She died June 23, 2004.

He worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1972, with 43 years of service and a lifetime member of the John Deere Supervisor’s Club. He was a member of the Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, and a long time member of the church choir. Glenn loved to sing and he also sang with the John Deere Melodeeres for many years.

Survived by two sons: Glenn Eickelberg Jr. And his wife Cecelia, of Shell Rock, IA, and Dean Eickelberg and his wife Diana, of Decorah, IA; 6 grandchildren: Rick Eickelberg of Hudson, Jeff Eickelebrg of Waterloo, Heidi (David) Miller of Indianola, IA, and Dan, Allison, and Robyn Eickelberf, of Decorah; 3 step-grandchildren: Dennis (Donna) Bass, of Burkburnett, TX., Perry (Penny) Bass, of Aurora, CO., and Marie (Bill) Tillman, of Atoka, TN.; 6 great grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; brother, Keith Eickelberg of CA; sister, Leah Hileman of Cedar Falls, IA; and sister in law, Sina Eickelberg of St. Paul, MN.

He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Kenneth Eickelberg; and sister, Irma Eickelberg.
