Lucille Nash, 93, of the Friendship Village Health Center died Sunday, June 15, 2003 at the center of natural causes.

She was born April 1, 1910 in Mahaska County, Iowa the daughter of Jay Pearl and Gretta Whitehill Nash.

Lucille graduated from Lacey High School. She began her college education at William Penn College and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa in 1931. She received her Master of Arts from Drake University. Lucille completed some graduate work at Gregg College in Chicago, the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, and the University of Hawaii at Honolulu. She taught at Lacey High School, Rose Hill High School, Keosauqua High School, the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Eldon High School, and Newton High School. She taught for the Waterloo Community Schools from 1947 to 1975 retiring as the head of the Business Education Department at West High School.

Lucille is Past-President of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waterloo, Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution, Waterloo Women's Club, National Education Association, and the Cedar Valley Historical Society.

Preceded in death by her parents and two bothers: Clarence and Howard Nash.
