WATERLOO - Harold J. Goetsch, 88, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Rosewood Estate.

He was born July 25, 1920, in Independence, son of Joseph Samuel and Elsie G. Closson Goetsch. He married Lorraine A. Sells Henze on Oct. 19, 1990. She died Oct. 27, 2006.

Mr. Goetsch worked as a truck driver, and drove a cab for 23 years in Waterloo. He then was a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority for 10 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by two stepdaughters, Renee (Derek) Oberle of Evansdale and Carla (Stan) Everts of New Hartford; a stepson, Ronald (Shirley) Henze of Raymond; several cousins and other relatives.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Harold was a very loving son who cared for his mother until she passed away. He loved taking care of his wife. They enjoyed going to C&H for breakfast or Big Bill's for chicken. They also liked to play cards with friends and his cousin, Kenny. He enjoyed watching Western shows on TV.
