Jack E. Meggison, 77, of Rosewood Estate, formerly of 314 Julie Court, died on Monday, November 15, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born on July 1, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of John and Hattie (Bender) Meggison. Jack graduated from East High School in 1945 and received his BA in Business from the University of Iowa.

Jack married Winnifred Wells in 1944 in Waterloo. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Jack sold school supplies for 3M, J.S. Latta, and Beckley Cardy for many years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was involved with Prime Timers, as well as an Usher and an Elder. He was also a member of Waterloo BPO Elks 290 and Toastmasters. He was Treasurer of the Waterloo Exchange Club and the Proud Image Chorus.

He thoroughly enjoyed golf. He enjoyed singing and his involvement with Proud Image Chorus. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his yard.

Jack is survived by his wife, Winnifred; son, Jeff Meggison and his wife Lori of Waterloo; daughter, Melissa Donnelley of St. Louis, Missouri; and four grandchildren: Chelsea, Jessica, Ashley, and John.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends who wish may direct memorials to First Presbyterian Church or to the Waterloo Exchange Club.
