WATERLOO — Karen Ann Freudenberg, 59, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Affinity House.

She was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Waterloo, daughter of Norwin and Margaret Selking Freudenberg.

Karen graduated from Waterloo East High School after attending McKinstry Junior High School in the ninth grade. She worked for Allen Memorial Hospital, National Bank of Waterloo and Magna Bank. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. At Immanuel Church, she served on many committees: Evangelism, Stewardship, Human Care and others. She was past president of the Immanuel Lutheran Church (LWML) Dorcas Society. She also was part of the founding committee to build Valley Lutheran High School.

Survived by a brother, Mark Freudenberg; two sisters, Kay Diers, and Sara Herridge; two nieces and seven nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a niece.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation.
